  The Watchtower is a business plain and simple after all it is 'incorporated' which says it all. As a business they have a bottom line which is 'cash flow' it can't be negative. So a bigger loss in the court, brings bigger focus on the problem with these Ceo's/GB and the more likely change is to occur.

  This financial loss and the precedent set in the courts will have major impact and if it doesn't these guys on the GB are very stupid CEOs and will drive this corporation/Jehovah's chariot into the ground much sooner.

  Smiddy,

  I only hope she has not been worn down by the stress these past three years must have been on her by the tactics used by this religion to try and reduce the $ payment awarded by the courts in the first place,

  True it must have been stressful but on the other hand, very therapeutic for a person who has been abused hopefully she has put this trauma in her psyche in a better place and she will lead a happier life with this all behind her now.

  I admire this women for this:

  "Ms. Conti is of the view that public policy should favor requiring churches to do all they can to prevent further abuse by identified child molesters from happening, rather than just requiring that they pay money to victims after the abuse occurs,"

  Ms Conti has done a very good service with her taking it to the limit with appeals and it will make the WT a little more careful, and raise public awareness of these not so innocent end of the world cult leaders/policy makers.

  We all no how much the GB hate getting a black eye in the public press and they ain't gonna live this down this is just the first few of many. IOW they have to change policy or else die the horrible death bankruptcy through shear stupidity beyond belief.

  Yes I think this will have a big effect on the WT corporation giving up some control to avoid legal action in the future. A move the GB will be forced to implement for their financial survival, it's coming as the news gets out among the R&F about these legal loses, I see the Faithful Slave loosing popularity over this whole kerfuffle and elders not wanting to be left holding the bag so to speak. This whole thing is going to snowball in time if it hasn't already.

  opinion filed.. (signed published) the judgment against defendants on the negligence count is affirmed.

  the judgment against watchtower on the cause of action for punitive damages is reversed with directions to enter judgment for watchtower on punitive damages.

  $7 million is nothing to sneeze at. I was rather astounded at @the 21 million I thought it was awfully high but was glad the WT would lose such a high amount.

  Realistically 7 million even after the lawyer gets his cut for all his hard work will be a nice chunk of change.

  subsequent to the opening of the inquiry, in a letter dated 10 july 2014, mr cook of the watchtower informed the respondent that the disfellowshipping hearing for mr rose had in fact been carried out by the elders of a different congregation, so the charity had played no role in that process.

  mr cook (who is the in-house solicitor at the watchtower) later elaborated on his own letter in a witness statement for the tribunal.

  Yes the Watchtower Corporation is trying to distance itself as much as possible by making these dummy corporations to relay orders directly from the GB, but I don't think these will offer the refuge the GB in their delusional state think it will, hey a drowning man will grasp at straw floating on the water even though it will offer no hope of salvation.

  so by now most of us have heard about (or watched) the april broadcast and the ridiculous "experience" of the guy that asked god to fix his construction leak before he believed in him..... so, what would you like to "pray that god fixes" in your life??.

  I want to ask him to find my keys, I hear he is really good with that and helping a person get to work on time, and speeding up the processing of income tax returns, but it seems prayers for food for starving children and curing people dying of horrible diseases he's has a very slow response time(2000 years and counting).
